How does Smart Recurring work?

Smart Recurring automatically increases the amount of your regular Bitcoin purchase when the market price is relatively low, to optimise your savings strategy.

What is Smart Recurring?

Smart Recurring is an option available on your recurring purchase plan. It adjusts the amount you save each week or month based on Bitcoin price trends, without requiring you to monitor the market.

How does the adjustment work?

Bitstack compares the current Bitcoin price to its 60-day moving average (an average that smooths out short-term price fluctuations).

  • If the current price is below that average, your purchase amount is increased.

  • If the current price is above that average, the amount charged is exactly the amount you configured, with no variation.

The size of the possible increase depends on the risk profile you choose:

  • Cautious: possible increase of up to +10% of your configured amount

  • Moderate: possible increase of up to +20% of your configured amount

  • Dynamic: possible increase of up to +30% of your configured amount

The amount shown for each purchase may therefore be higher than the amount you originally set, depending on market conditions.

How to enable Smart Recurring?

  1. Open the Savings tab in the Bitstack app.

  2. Tap Recurring.

  3. Tap Continue to set up a recurring purchase.

  4. Enter the amount you want to save.

  5. Select your payment method.

  6. Choose the frequency, start date, and time.

  7. Choose your risk profile: Cautious, Moderate, or Dynamic.

If you select your Bitstack cash account as your payment method, it must have sufficient funds at the time of purchase. After selecting the cash account, you can add an external bank card as a backup payment method, so that funds are drawn from it if your balance is insufficient.

How to disable Smart Recurring?

  1. Open the Savings tab in the Bitstack app.

  2. Tap Recurring.

  3. Select the relevant recurring purchase.

  4. In the plan settings, uncheck the Smart Recurring option.
