Get started

To buy, sell, and store Bitcoin on Bitstack, as well as do much more, get started here.

What you'll need

  • Be at least 18 years old (we’ll ask for proof)

  • A government-issued photo ID (we don’t accept residence permits)

  • A smartphone connected to the internet

  • A phone number connected to your smartphone (we'll send SMS text messages)

  • The latest Bitstack App version - make sure your phone’s operating system is up-to-date.

Bitstack doesn’t charge a fee to create or maintain your Bitstack account. Learn more about pricing and fees.

1. Create your account

Download and open the Bitstack app on Android or iOS to get started.

  1. Open the app and tap on Sign up.

  2. Create an account by entering the following information:

    • Phone number (we'll send you an SMS verification code)

    • Email address (use one that you have access to)

    • Password (memorize your password)

*By creating an account with Bitstack, you agree to our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy.

2. Add your personal information

  1. Enter the information shown on your valid government-issued photo ID—you’ll need to submit a photo of this ID later. Important: Enter accurate, up-to-date information to avoid any issues.

    • First Name

    • Last Name

    • Date of Birth

    • Address

    • Current Occupation

  2. You’ll also need to indicate whether you meet one of the following conditions:

    • You are a politically exposed person (PEP)

    • You work in some specific industries

    • You are acting on behalf of a company

    • You are acting on behalf of someone else

*Bitstack collects this information to comply with regulatory requirements.

3. Verify your identity

  1. Choose the government-issued photo ID (we don't accept residence permits):

    • Passport

    • Driving licence

    • National ID card

  2. Select the issuing country of your ID.

  3. Take a photo of your ID.

  4. Take a video of your face.

*This information is encrypted and securely stored.

4. [Optional] Link your bank account

You'll need to link your bank account to enable Roundups. This will allow Bitstack to round up your everyday purchases. Important: You'll also need to add a payment method to your account so Bitstack can debit the total of your weekly roundups.

Learn more about how roundups work and which banks are supported in your country.

*Bitstack never has access to your online banking credentials. It has read-only access to your bank account.

5. Add a payment method

You'll need to add a payment method to your Bitstack account to Buy Bitcoin instantly or schedule Recurring buys of Bitcoin.

Bitstack will also use this payment method to debit your weekly Roundups.
