How do Goals work on Bitstack?

Learn how to set up a Bitcoin savings Goal, fund it, track your progress, edit it, or delete it.

A Goal is a part of your Bitcoin savings that you give a name, an icon and, if you want, a target amount to reach. You can direct your recurring buys, round-ups or one-time top-ups toward it to track your progress.

How does a Goal work?

You set a target in euros. Your progress is calculated against this amount, even though your savings are held in bitcoin.

You fund your Goal however you like: by linking a recurring buy, a round-ups plan, or by making a one-time top-up.

No target date is required: only the amount you want to reach matters, with no time limit.

Your bitcoin stays available. Nothing is locked: you can move your money at any time, between your Goals or back to your Bitcoin wallet.

A Goal is not a separate account. It's a way of organising the bitcoin you already own: your total balance stays the same and always includes everything held in your Goals.

You can create up to two Goals.

How do I create a Goal?

  1. From the Savings tab, select Create new Goal.

  2. Name your Goal, then choose an icon.

  3. Enter the amount you want to reach (€1 minimum).

  4. Confirm. Your Goal is available immediately.

How do I fund a Goal?

Several options are available, and can be combined:

  • Link a recurring buy (standard or smart) to your Goal. Only one recurring buy can be linked to a Goal at a time: linking a new one replaces the previous plan, which keeps running but goes back to funding your Bitcoin wallet.

  • Link a round-ups plan to your Goal. Note that round-ups made with your Bitstack Card aren't compatible with Goals yet.

  • Make a one-time top-up by buying bitcoin directly into your Goal.

  • Move money you already hold, from your Bitcoin wallet or from another Goal.

If you move money out of a Goal funded by round-ups, a notification reminds you that those round-ups will no longer be directed to that Goal at that location.

How do I track my progress?

Each Goal shows your balance, your target, and a progress bar. Because your target is set in euros while your savings are held in bitcoin, your progress moves with the bitcoin price: it can vary from one day to the next without any action on your part.

When you reach your target, your Goal is marked as completed. Nothing stops automatically: your plans keep running and you can still add money, edit your target, or move your funds.

How do I edit a Goal?

  1. Open the Goal you want to change.

  2. Select Edit.

  3. Change the name, icon and/or target amount.

  4. Confirm: changes apply immediately.

How do I delete a Goal?

  1. Open the Goal you want to close.

  2. Select Delete Goal.

  3. Confirm the closure. This action can't be undone.

Any remaining balance is automatically returned to your Bitcoin wallet. Nothing is sold and nothing is lost.
