Your bank accounts are synchronised via our partners Powens and Tink. This enables your bank to communicate your transactions to us securely in real time.

Why can bank synchronisation fail?

There are several reasons why your bank account and Bitstack account may not be synchronised:

1. Incorrect bank details :

Have you entered the right e-mail address or password for your bank? This may seem obvious, but many connections fail for this reason. Powens will display this window if your identifiers are incorrect.

2. Two-factor authentication via your bank (2FA) :

Two-factor authentication (2FA) is a security mechanism that adds an extra layer of protection to your account. In addition to your password, it requires a second verification, often a temporary code sent by SMS, email or generated by an authentication application.

During the linking process, you should pay close attention to any messages or notifications your bank may send you.

3. Old bank connections that have expired :

An expired bank connection means that the link with your bank account is no longer valid. This often occurs because the legal 180-day link period has expired or because your bank details have been updated.

If you are unable to renew an expired link, we suggest you delete it and initiate a new one. Here's how to do it:

  • Tap on the Account tab

  • Tap on Linked accounts

  • Tap on the account whose connection has expired

  • Tap Unlink bank connection

  • Then initiate a new connection by tapping on Link bank account

4. Updating the application

If the problem persists, you can check whether an update of the Bitstack application is available. Developers sometimes release bug fixes and improvements to resolve synchronisation problems. If after following these steps the problem persists, we recommend that you contact Bitstack Customer Support for further assistance. You can contact us via the ‘Support’ option in the application or by sending an email to support@bitstack-app.com

To help us identify and resolve the problem as quickly as possible, please take a screenshot of the error message or the last page you arrive at during the connection.
