Using the card abroad and foreign exchange (FX) fees
You can use your Bitstack card internationally for card payments (in-store or online) and ATM withdrawals, anywhere Visa is accepted.
When you make a transaction in a foreign currency (for example, in dollars, pounds sterling, or crowns), your euro balance is automatically converted. This is known as currency exchange, or FX (foreign exchange).
To help reduce the cost of these conversions, Bitstack grants you a free monthly FX allowance: this is a monthly threshold below which no exchange fee is charged.
Up to €1,000 per month: no additional FX fees.
Above €1,000 per month: an FX fee of approximately 1% applies to the amount exceeding the free allowance.
The exchange rate used is the Visa rate at the time of the transaction.
ATM withdrawal fees
ATM withdrawals are included each month within these limits:
Up to €200 per month or 5 withdrawals (whichever limit is reached first): no Bitstack fees.
Beyond these limits: fees apply to each additional withdrawal:
€1 minimum, or
1% of the withdrawal amount (whichever is higher).
Withdrawal fees apply in France and abroad.
If you withdraw in a foreign currency, the FX fees described above may also apply, in addition to any withdrawal fees.
Some ATM operators charge their own fees, independently from Bitstack. These fees are always displayed before you confirm the withdrawal.
