Bitcoin buying and selling fees
Bitstack charges a fee on every Bitcoin purchase or sale. The exact amount is shown on the confirmation screen before you submit your transaction.
Fees vary based on your trading volume over the past 30 days:
30-day volume | Fee |
Less than €250 | 1.49% |
€250 – €5,000 | 0.99% |
€5,000 – €10,000 | 0.89% |
€10,000 – €50,000 | 0.79% |
€50,000 – €250,000 | 0.69% |
€250,000 – €500,000 | 0.59% |
More than €500,000 | 0.49% |
A minimum fee of €0.29 applies to every card purchase, regardless of the amount.
If a transaction moves you to the next tier, the reduced fee applies from that transaction onward for the following 30 days.
Example: a €250 purchase immediately benefits from the 0.99% rate instead of 1.49%.
Market price spread
In addition to fees, Bitstack may include a spread in the displayed price. Depending on market conditions, this spread ranges between 0% and 1%. The exact price is always shown on the confirmation screen before you confirm your order.
Bitstack sources Bitcoin through a liquidity provider. A rate slightly above the mid-market price may be used to increase the likelihood of a successful transaction and to hold the quoted price while your order is being processed.
Why can fees be higher on small card purchases?
Card purchases are subject to a fee of 1.49% of the transaction amount, with a minimum fee of €0.29 per transaction.
For any purchase below €20, this minimum applies and the effective fee rate exceeds 1.49%.
Purchase amount | Calculation | Fee applied |
€10 | 1.49% = €0.15 → minimum €0.29 | 2.90% |
€20 | 1.49% = €0.30 | 1.49% |
The cash account allows purchases of any amount with no minimum fee. If you save regularly in small amounts, opening a cash account may be more advantageous.
Funding your cash account
You can fund your Bitstack cash account in two ways:
Method | Fee |
Bank transfer (SEPA) | Free |
Debit/credit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay | 0.70% of the amount |
Top-up fees are shown on the confirmation screen before you confirm the transaction.
Bitcoin withdrawal fees
When withdrawing Bitcoin to an external wallet, you choose the processing speed. Fees are calculated at the time of the request.
Speed | Timeframe | Fee |
Priority | 10 minutes or less | Pro rata + up to €3 |
Fast | 2 hours or less | Pro rata + up to €2 |
Standard | 24 hours or less | Free |
Pro rata fees reflect your share of the Bitcoin network fees (mining fees). They vary based on the speed selected and the level of activity on the blockchain at the time of your transaction.
