To sell Bitcoin on Bitstack:

  1. Tap the Savings tab.

  2. Select Sell.

  3. Enter the amount you want to sell, or tap Max to sell all your bitcoin.

  4. If your cash account is active, the sale will be processed automatically to that account, instantly.

If your cash account is not active, you can select one of your linked bank accounts or enter your IBAN manually.

  5. Tap Sell to confirm the transaction.

Once the sale is complete:

  • If you have a cash account, funds will be credited to it immediately.

  • If you are selling to an external bank account, Bitstack will convert your bitcoin to euros and initiate a bank transfer to your account within 5 business days.

In accordance with our Terms and Conditions, all sales must be made to a bank account in your name. The name associated with the IBAN must exactly match the name registered on your Bitstack account. If this is not the case, the sale is automatically cancelled. If your name is incorrect in the app, please contact us by email or via the in-app chat so we can correct it.

Selling fees

Selling fees are added to the total amount of your transaction.

I haven't received my transfer after 5 business days. What should I do?

This section only applies to sales made to an external bank account (without an active cash account).

There are four possible reasons why you have not yet received your funds after 5 business days:

  • Your transfer was initiated on the 5th business day. Once initiated, it is being processed by the banking network and will be credited to your bank account within an additional 1 to 2 business days. No action is required on your end — simply wait for the funds to arrive.

  • Your transfer may have been sent to a sub-account or savings account linked to your bank account. This can happen when your bank provides us with the IBANs of your accounts and savings accounts without allowing us to distinguish between them. Please check your various sub-accounts.

  • Your transfer may have been returned to Bitstack by your bank. This can happen when the bank only accepts transfers sent from an account in your name (e.g. PayPal, Trade Republic, etc.). If this is the case, please send us a new bank account statement (RIB) linked to another account in your name.

  • Our bank may have encountered an error when processing your transfer. This can happen if your IBAN was entered incorrectly. If this is the case, your sale will still appear as "In progress" in the Activity tab after 5 business days.

If any of these situations apply, please contact support.
